Comprehending Violence: A letter regarding the CT shooting

Trigger Warning: Injustice of the World

This poem has a trigger warning. This is in reaction to a lot of the coverage about how rape is... not rape. The country seems run by rapists to me. My soul rebels thusly:

Injustice of the World
Screaming in my soul
Detractors of what is good
screaming in my ears
I cry for you
I cry for me
I cry... for the future.

I hear the things that make me die
I see the things that make me cry
I know the things no one should know

Pain in my body
Pain in my mind
Shattered heart
shattered and blind

Injustice of the World
Broken children left to die
All for the word
of the rich men

They dictate my life
they break your wife
they destroy the world

Ignorance is bliss?
Then why am I not happy...
Deemed ignorant for knowing this...

This thing forced upon me.

Injustice of the world
Shattering my very being
Missing pieces when found again
I am not whole...

My innocence is missing.
